What Is 316L Pipe?
316L is a low-carbon stainless steel, a low-carbon version of alloy 316. Comprising molybdenum, nickel, and chromium, 316L stainless steel pipe is resistant to saltwater corrosion and is also known as marine-grade stainless steel. ASTM A312 TP316L has a minimum tensile strength of 485 MPa, a minimum yield strength of 170 MPa, an elongation of 40%, and a density of 8,000 kg/m³.

Seamless Pipe: 316L seamless pipe is produced from solid billets through hot and cold rolling processes. Seamless pipe sizes range from 1/2-inch NB to 16-inch NB, with an outer diameter range of 6.00 mm to 914.4 mm. Seamless pipe offers improved pressure resistance.
Welded Pipe: 316L welded pipe is produced by welding stainless steel strip or plate. For example, 316L ERW pipe is produced by spiral welding strip. EFW pipe sizes range from 6-inch NB to 100-inch NB. Welded pipe has lower prices.
