Stainless Steel 304L Main features
Stainless steel 304L (UNS S30403) is the most widely used "18-8" chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. It is an economical and versatile corrosion-resistant alloy that is suitable for a wide range of applications for general purposes.
304L is commonly doubly certified as 304 and 304L The low carbon content of stainless steel 304L combined with the addition of nitrogen makes it possible for 304L to satisfy the mechanical property requirements of 304.
304L alloy has excellent resistance against intergranular corrosion in its welded state and has great strength hand toughness at cryogenic temperatures.
Stainless steel 304L is non-magnetic in its annealed state, but may become slightly magnetic as a result of cold processing or welding. It is easy to weld and process using standard manufacturing techniques.
