Niobium (Nb) is added to stabilize the carbon, significantly improving its resistance to intergranular corrosion.

 

Alloy 20 exhibits excellent resistance to uniform corrosion in aggressive media such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and mixed acids, and also offers good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
