AL6XN (UNS N08367) is a super-austenitic stainless steel alloy renowned for its superior corrosion resistance, high strength, and excellent weldability.
It contains high levels of chromium (20-22%), molybdenum (6-7%), and nitrogen (0.18-0.25%), making it highly resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in aggressive environments such as seawater, chemical processing, and pulp and paper industries.

ASME B16.11 AL6XN Weldolet
Weldolets fabricated from AL6XN are branch connection fittings designed for butt-welding to create reinforced outlets in piping systems. These fittings conform to ASME B16.11 standards for pressure-temperature ratings, tolerances, and marking, ensuring reliability in high-pressure applications.
Dimensions align with industry practices for size-on-size configurations, typically following MSS SP-97 for branch outlets while meeting ASME B16.11 requirements.
Technical Standard Clarification
While inquiries often reference ASME B16.11 (which covers general socket-weld and threaded forged fittings), the specific design, dimensions, and proof test requirements for integrally reinforced forged branch outlet fittings (Weldolets) are governed by MSS SP-97.
Our AL6XN Weldolets are manufactured to meet the applicable requirements of ASTM A182 / ASTM B564 for material chemistry and mechanical properties, with dimensions strictly adhering to MSS SP-97.

Note:
When the thickness (schedule) of the branch or running pipe exceeds the range indicated in the above table, the outlet can be fabricated to a special thickness, dimension, and shape against the agreement between the purchaser and manufacturer.
These dimensions ensure optimal fit-up and stress distribution in welded joints. For reducing sizes, extra-strong (XS) or Schedule 160 configurations, and custom dimensions, may apply based on run and branch pipe schedules. AL6XN Weldolets are available in seamless construction, with beveled ends per ASME B16.25 for enhanced weld integrity.
As a manufacturer, we recommend consulting specific project requirements and material certifications to ensure compliance with ASME codes. Contact us for quotes on AL6XN weldolets or related nickel alloy fittings.
