2026 Price Quote for 904L Stainless Steel Reducers
Due to the high nickel (25%) and molybdenum (4.5%) content in 904L, the cost per unit is significantly higher than standard 304 or 316 grades. Prices in the Chinese market for 2026 are stabilized but remain sensitive to LME nickel fluctuations.

Current FOB China Quote Range (Class 3000# - Threaded/SW):
NPS 1/2" – 1": $12.50 – $28.00 per unit
NPS 1-1/4" – 2": $35.00 – $72.00 per unit
NPS 3" – 4": $115.00 – $240.00 per unit
Factors Affecting Final Quote:
Order Volume: Bulk orders (exceeding 100 units) qualify for a 5–10% discount.
Certification: Prices include standard MTRs (Mill Test Reports) to EN 10204 3.1. Third-party inspection (TPI) by SGS or BV is available at an additional cost.
Finish: Standard pickling and passivation are included; bright annealing or electro-polishing will incur a premium.
Forged 904L Steel Reducer Selection
904L reducers are specified for sulfuric acid service concentrations between 10-98% and temperatures up to 40°C, where standard 316L would fail. The alloy's pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) of 34-37 makes it suitable for chloride environments up to 1,000 ppm.
ASME B16.9 dimensional compliance ensures proper fit-up with mating pipe components, with tolerances maintained within ±1.5mm for end-to-end dimensions. Chinese manufacturers adhering to ISO 9001:2015 quality systems provide consistent dimensional accuracy critical for welding procedures.
Heat treatment at 1,100-1,150°C followed by rapid quenching optimizes corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Proper solution annealing prevents sensitization and maintains the alloy's resistance to intergranular corrosion.
Summary
904L stainless steel reducer buyers should provide the specific reducing ratio and pressure class, as wall thickness significantly impacts material weight and final price. As a leading China-based manufacturer, we maintain a robust inventory of AL6XN and 904L raw materials to ensure lead times of 15–20 days for custom forgings.
