2507 super duplex stainless steel has a pitting resistance equivalent (PRE) of at least 42.5, and is resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. UNS S32750 also has excellent resistance to chloride corrosion and is also suitable for mild hydrogen sulfide, dilute reducing acids and organic acids, as well as moderate to highly oxidizing acids. Super duplex 1.4410 has a mechanical strength twice that of conventional 316 austenitic stainless steel. SS2507 is widely used in offshore oil and gas exploration and heat exchangers in petrochemicals.
