What Is Hastelloy C22 Material?
Nickel Alloy C-22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum solid solution-strengthened alloy consisting of 56% nickel, 22% chromium, and 13% molybdenum, with additions of iron, tungsten, and cobalt. It is also known as Hastelloy C22 or UNS N06022.
Hastelloy c22 Material Service Temperature
ASME SB 622 UNS N06022 pipe must not be used at temperatures exceeding 1250°F (704°C), as this can lead to the formation of deleterious phases.
Hastelloy c22 Pipe Fabrication
It is formed by cold working, but requires intermediate annealing.
Forging: C22 material is forged between 1750-2250°F and then rapidly cooled.
Annealing: C22 Hastelloy is annealed at 1121°C (2050°F) and then rapidly water quenched.
Welding of Hastelloy C22: TIG welding, MIG welding, and manual metal arc welding (SMAW) can be used, using C22 alloy electrodes or C276 electrodes.
