What is ASTM B564 Monel 400 Socket Weld Flange?
A socket weld flange features a recessed "socket" into which the pipe is inserted. The connection is secured with a single fillet weld on the outer side of the flange. Unlike slip-on flanges, the socket weld design provides a smooth bore and better internal flow characteristics, significantly reducing turbulence and erosion at the joint.

Monel 400 (UNS N04400) is a "puritan alloy," composed of approximately 63% nickel and 30% copper. Our ASTM B564 Monel 400 socket weld flanges provide a secure, leak-proof connection ideal for high-pressure piping systems.

Our Factory Manufacturing Process
Our factory employs state-of-the-art processes to manufacture ASTM B564 Monel 400 socket weld flanges, ensuring precision and quality.

Raw Material Selection: We source premium Monel 400 billets certified to ASTM B564, verifying chemical composition through spectrometry.
Forging: Using hot or cold forging techniques, we shape the flanges under controlled temperatures to achieve optimal grain structure and strength. Our facilities include hydraulic presses up to 5000 tons for uniform forging.
Machining: CNC lathes and mills precisely machine sockets, faces, and bolt holes to exact dimensions per ASME B16.5. Socket depths and bores are tolerances-checked for perfect pipe fit.
Heat Treatment: Flanges undergo solution annealing at 870-980°C followed by rapid cooling to enhance corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Quality Assurance: Each flange is inspected via ultrasonic testing, dimensional verification, and mechanical tests (tensile, hardness). We provide Mill Test Certificates (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1.
Surface Finishing: Options include pickling, passivation, or custom coatings for added protection.
