316LN stainless steel is a low-carbon, nitrogen, strengthened version of 316. Higher yield strength than 316/316L. UNS S31653 material offers Mo and N, providing resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. 316LN is ideal for chemical, marine, and acidic environments. Machining: Hot working temperature range is 1150°C - 1200°C, allowing for rapid forging and rolling at high temperatures. Excellent cold working performance, Easily formed by bending, stretching, deep drawing, and spinning.

Heated at 1900-2150°F (1040-1175°C), then air-cooled or water-quenched.

Weldability: Suitable for various welding processes such as TIG and MIG welding. E/ER316L or E/ER316LN welding materials are acceptable. No post-weld heat treatment is required.

316L (low carbon, C≤0.03%) has a typical yield strength ≥ 170 MPa. Lower price.

316LN (low C + N) has a typical yield strength ≥ 240 MPa, approximately 40% higher than 316L. Therefore, under the same pressure, 316LN can use thinner pipe walls, saving material costs.
