ASTM A815 WPS32205 Duplex 2205 Elbow Fittings Suppliers

Elbow fittings made of duplex stainless steel 2205 are very suitable for use in corrosive environments, with a pitting resistance equivalent value (PREN) of 34-36, which has strong resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It is also resistant to chlorides and outperforms austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316 in many corrosive environments. ASTM A815 WPS32205 elbow is ideal for chemical processing, marine applications, desalination, oil and gas industries, and pulp and paper industries.

Duplex 2205

1. ASTM A815 UNS S32205 Chemical Composition

  • Chromium (Cr): 22–23%
  • Nickel (Ni): 4.5–6.5%
  • Molybdenum (Mo): 3–3.5%
  • Nitrogen (N): 0.14–0.20%
  • Manganese (Mn): ≤2%
  • Carbon (C): ≤0.03%
  • Silicon (Si): ≤1%
  • Phosphorus (P): ≤0.03%
  • Sulfur (S): ≤0.02%

2. ASTM A815 WPS32205 Mechanical Properties

  • Tensile Strength: 620 MPa (minimum)
  • Yield Strength: 450 MPa (minimum)
  • Elongation: 25% (minimum)
  • Hardness: typically less than 30 HRC

3. Duplex 2205 fittings High Temperature Resistance

Performs well between -50°C and +300°C

Not recommended due to risk of embrittlement Continuous use at temperatures above 300°C.

4. Thermal conductivity and expansion

  1. Thermal conductivity: higher than austenitic stainless steel, which improves heat transfer performance.
  2. Thermal expansion: lower than austenitic grades, reducing the risk of deformation in high temperature applications.

5. Available elbow types for SA815 S32205:

  • 90° elbow
  • 45° elbow
  • Long radius (LR) and short radius (SR) elbows
