Stainless steel Al-6XN(UNS N08367) flange is a pipe connector made of high-performance austenitic stainless steel Al-6XN (UNS N08367), designed for extreme corrosive environments. The material significantly improves corrosion resistance through high alloying components (chromium 20-22%, nickel 23.5-25.5%, molybdenum 6-7%, nitrogen 0.18-0.25% and trace copper and manganese). Its pitting resistance equivalent index (PREN) can reach more than 48, far exceeding 316L and duplex steel. It performs well in chloride ion media (such as seawater, bleach, acidic solutions), and can effectively resist pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. In terms of mechanical properties, UNS N08367 flanges have both high strength and toughness, with typical tensile strength ≥758 MPa, yield strength ≥414 MPa, elongation ≥40%, and optimized microstructure through solution annealing treatment to ensure stable performance in a wide temperature range of -196°C to 300°C.
This type of Stainless steel al6xn flange is widely used in marine engineering (such as submarine pipelines, desalination systems), chemical industry (reactors, heat exchangers), oil and gas production (high-sulfur oil and gas fields) and environmental protection equipment, especially in working conditions with chloride pollution, acidic gas or high temperature and high pressure. The manufacturing follows ASTM A182/A479, ASME B16.5/16.47 and other standards, supports welding, threaded and bolted connections, and ERNiCrMo-3/4 welding materials are recommended for welding to prevent sensitization of the heat-affected zone. Compared with traditional stainless steel, although Al-6XN has a higher initial cost, its long life and low maintenance characteristics make ss al6xn more economical in corrosive environments, while maintaining the easy processing advantages of austenitic steel, making it an ideal choice to replace Hastelloy or titanium in harsh working conditions.
Types of Al6xn Stainless Steel Flange
Stainless Steel Al6xn Flange comes in various types, including weld neck (WN), long weld neck (LWN), slip-on (SO), socket weld (SW), blind, plate, threaded, lap joint, orifice, and spectacle blind flanges. Additionally, there are special products available, such as rings, forgings, discs, and flange sleeves, catering to diverse industrial applications and requirements.
