Stainless steel 317L flange is a connection component widely used in industrial piping systems. 317L's design and manufacturing fully consider corrosion resistance, high temperature strength and long-term reliability. As a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel, the performance of the material in harsh environments is further improved by increasing the content of molybdenum, chromium and nickel. SS 317L usually contains about 18% to 20% chromium, 11% to 15% nickel, 3% to 4% molybdenum, and less than 0.03% carbon content. The low carbon characteristics can effectively reduce the precipitation of carbides during welding and high-temperature processing, thereby avoiding the risk of intergranular corrosion. This combination of ingredients makes UNS S31703 particularly outstanding in resisting chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion, and is particularly suitable for complex working conditions containing acidic media, halides or high-temperature steam.
