Stainless steel 254SMO flange refers to a high-performance pipe connection component based on super austenitic stainless steel 254SMO (UNS S31254, DIN 1.4547), designed for harsh corrosive environments. UNS S31254's chemical composition is based on high chromium (19.5%-20.5%), molybdenum (6.0%-6.5%), nickel (17.5%-18.5%) and nitrogen (0.18%-0.22%), supplemented by copper (0.5%-1.0%) and extremely low carbon content (≤0.02%). Alloy 254smo design gives the material excellent corrosion resistance and high strength, especially suitable for chloride, halide and acidic medium environments. Advantage of 254SMO Stainless Steel flange

 

Chloride environment: In seawater, high concentration chloride ion solution or halide-containing acid (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid), it has significant resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, PREN (pitting equivalent value) ≥43, close to the level of nickel-based alloy 58.

 

High temperature corrosion resistance: Even after sensitization treatment at 600-1000°C, it can still pass the Strauss intergranular corrosion test, suitable for high-temperature flue gas desulfurization equipment and other scenarios35.

 

Acidic medium: Stainless steel 254SMO flange performs better than ordinary stainless steel in dilute hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and mixed acid, but the risk of intergranular corrosion should be noted in concentrated nitric acid.
