Stainless Steel 17-4PH Pipe Spools

JN ALLOY supplies 17-4PH Stainless Steel Pipe Spools, 17-4PH Stainless Steel Pipe Prefabrication, 17-4PH Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe & Flange, 17-4PH Stainless Steel Piping Fabrication , SS 17-4PH Pre-fabricated Pipe Spools, UNS S17400 Piping System, 1.4542 Stainless Steel Pipes Spools manufacturer.

The hardening process of stainless steel 17-4 PH pipe spool employs precipitation, or aging temperature, responsible for the broad range of strength and toughness attributes the material achieves. Plate made from martensitic, precipitation-hardening stainless steel 17-4PH pipe spool comprises chromium, nickel, and copper. The material retains high strength up to around 316 degrees Celsius (600 degrees Fahrenheit). It has a high level of resistance to stress corrosion cracking in cases of reduced strength. Niobium is included in Alloy 17-4PH (UNS S17400), a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel containing chromium, nickel, and copper. 17-4PH pipe spool has excellent corrosion resistance and possesses great strength and hardness.

17-4 PH pipe spool should not be used at temperatures above 572 degrees Fahrenheit (300 degrees Celsius) or in cryogenic applications. Age-hardening heat treatments can enhance their mechanical qualities to their maximum potential. Heat treatment at around 900 degrees Fahrenheit (482 degrees Celsius) achieves the highest level of strength. In most conditions, the corrosion resistance of Alloy 17-4PH pipe spool is on par with that of 304 stainless steel, and in many cases, it is higher than that of the stainless steel in the 400 series. Applications require moderate corrosion resistance and very high strength, and this material is suitable for such situations.

17-4PH pipe spool embodies the advantages of austenitic steel after solution treatment and is easy to work with. It can obtain high strength through intermediate pressure treatment and aging treatment, so it is widely used in pressure vessels, aircraft and steam turbine blades. It is mainly used for these parts because they are either in contact with the medium or highly stressed. For example, if the impeller is in direct contact with the medium, it poses high requirements on the corrosion resistance of the material used. Since the shaft must drive the rotor components such as the impeller to rotate together, it is subject to large force, requiring very good strength and toughness to operate. The mechanical properties required for its materials, hence, must be very good. That's how 17-4PH comes into play as its corrosion resistance and mechanical properties meet these two requirements.
