Being a nickel-copper based alloy, Monel K500 has excellent corrosion resistance properties. Although the Monel K500 Tube is similar to its Monel 400 counterpart, in terms of its corrosion resistance properties, the strength and hardness are properties that are significantly higher than the former. The Monel K500 Seamless Pipe is designed to be used in heat exchanger applications. Industries like oil and gas, or marine engineering use the ASME SB163 UNS N05500 as they are able to hold out elevated temperatures, without getting corroded. The precipitation hardening that occurs in the matrix of the alloy used to manufacture the Monel K500 seamless tube on account of the addition of Aluminium and Titanium, which leads to improvement in its mechanical properties. Although it is noted that the mechanical properties of the Ni K500 Cold Drawn Tube have been enhanced, partially due to the controlled heat treat cycles during its production.
