A solid solution alloy, Monel 400 is an alloy that exhibits superior resistance to the marine environment. This is an alloy which can only be strengthened by cold working. Nickel based UNS N04400 pipe spool exhibits a lower rate of corrosion in rapidly flowing brackish/saline water or seawater as well as steam at elevated temperatures. In the presence of caustic solutions, the resilience of a Monel 400 pipe spool is amazing. Furthermore, the display of excellent corrosion resistance properties makes this alloy grade well suited for applications in several freshwater sources.
