Properties of Inconel 625 Round Bars

 

Inconel 625 is austenitic grade of steel. The Inconel 625 Round Bar is designed possessing a superior chemical composition consisting of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. The outstanding content embedded in them gives them excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance properties. 625 Inconel Hot rolled Bar is processed at extreme temperatures in mills till it attains its recrystallization limit. This allows the subsequent modules to be shaped in precise dimensions. The Nickel Alloy 625 Square Bar is designed in a uniform cross sectional area, wherein all the sides of the bar are equal. These bars are used in manufacturing and general assembly system. Alloy 625 Flat Bar has unequal sides and are designed in a rectangular cross section. These bars have lower thickness and are generally used in structural applications. The ASTM B446 UNS N06625 Hex Bar exhibits a polygonal cross section and is designed with six sides. These bars allow for better movement and torsion in the system.Inconel 625 Round Bar has high strength, fabricates extremely well and has tremendous corrosion resistance. The range of temperatures viable for Inconel 625 Round Bar start as low as cryogenic and go up to 1800°F.

Inconel 625 Round Bar Technology

 

Fabrication
Inconel 625 round bar materials are typically melted in electric arc furnaces or vacuum induction furnaces. During the melting process, precise control of temperature and chemical composition is crucial to ensure the homogeneous distribution of alloying elements. After melting, the molten metal may undergo a refining process to remove impurities, gases, and non - metallic inclusions. Vacuum arc remelting (VAR) or electroslag remelting (ESR) techniques can be used to further improve the purity and quality of the steel, enhancing its mechanical and corrosion - resistant properties.

 

Heat Treatment
Heat treatment is an important process for optimizing the properties of Inconel 625 round bars. Solution annealing is commonly used. During solution annealing, the round bars are heated to a specific temperature (usually around 1093 - 1204°C) and then rapidly cooled. This process dissolves carbides and other precipitates in the alloy, improving its corrosion resistance, ductility, and overall performance.
